About
Built in Johannesburg, in service of the rule of law.
Lex Aurum began with a simple observation: South African practitioners spend an extraordinary share of their week on work that software should have absorbed a decade ago.
Why it exists
Research that should take twenty minutes takes an afternoon. A standard notice gets rebuilt from scratch because the last version is buried in an inbox. A significant judgment lands and half the profession only hears about it weeks later.
Lex Aurum is a single workspace for that work: ask a research question in plain English, get a structured answer with authorities to verify, draft from it, keep it attached to the matter, and stay current through a weekly digest of what the courts have decided.
It is software you operate yourself. We do not provide legal services, and we are deliberate about saying so — the value is in the hours returned to you, not in pretending a model can replace professional judgement.
Who it serves
Attorneys and advocates in private practice, magistrates and judicial officers, state prosecutors, candidate attorneys and sole practitioners, and firms and legal departments running teams. Pricing is deliberately tiered so that the bench, the prosecution and those early in practice are not charged commercial rates. See who it's for.
South African first
Not a global tool with a local skin. The templates, the courts, the citation habits and the pricing are built for practice in this jurisdiction.
Confidentiality is not a feature
Privileged material is privileged. Nothing you upload or ask is used to train a model, and access is scoped to your account by default.
Candid about the limits
We tell subscribers plainly that outputs are a starting point to verify, not authority to cite blind. A tool that oversells itself is a liability in a practitioner's hands.
In service of the work
The aim is to give back the hours lost to searching, formatting and first drafts — so judgement, strategy and advocacy get the time they deserve.
